Westminster Astronomical Society, Inc. (WASI) has received a generous Challenge Grant of $10,000 from the Knott Foundation for the construction of the observatory.
The Knott Foundation will match $10,000 if WASI raises the same amount within the next six months. Meeting this goal will exceed our half way point to start construction. Current projections start groundbreaking in early spring 2007. For the more details check out the Observatory or contact Brian .

Shoot For The Stars Golf Tournament An Astronomical Success The first annual Shoot for the Stars Golf Tournament held the Links at Gettysburg on Tuesday, May 16 was an "astronomical success!" Twenty-five golfers played and $2200 were raised to towards the building of the Westminster Astronomical Society's Observatory Campaign!

the building of an observatory at Bear Branch Nature Center.

February 11, 2004 A team of professional astronomers approached WAS,inc. for help with field testing their idea for a unique approach to search for exo-planets (planets orbiting distant stars)! This technique is both simple and challenging, additionally to the best of anyone's knowledge has never been tested. Preliminary field tests will be conducted as soon as weather permits.
